Work Package 2
In WP2 numerical analyses by means of general-purpose software codes will be performed, based on calibrated FE-models that were developed in previous projects, for DRD types 1, 2 and 3. Geometric and material non-linear behaviour will be taken into account. Degradations due to cyclic loading, such as Baushinger effects and low-cycle fatigue, will be considered through appropriate material laws. The results of the numerical analysis of DRD1 will be calibrated against the experimental ones. The calibrated models will be used to perform a study on the effect of various parameters on the behaviour of DRDs. The previous numerical models will be simulated with simplified superelementsto be used in the experimental investigations of hybrid testing.
